Dear NVYLL Club Official,

Virginia Lacrosse Club ("VLC") invites your Boys A, Upper B and Lower B teams to participate in our inaugural VLC Icebreaker Tournament on Sunday, March 17, 2019.  Our goal is to provide as many fun and competitive games as possible in preparation for the NVYLL season.  Instead of the hassle of scheduling one-off scrimmages for your club, the VLC Icebreaker Tournament will provide reasonably-priced games at one location.  VLC supports the mission of the NVYLL:  we believe it's important for kids to have fun and get better playing with their friends from the neighborhood.

All teams will play three 10v10 games in a progression-style bracket.  Games will be played in 45 minute increments, and teams will complete their three games within a 3 hour window.  We will have 14U, 12U, 10U and 8U divisions consisting of 4-8 teams per division.  If we have increased demand, we may have games on 3/16 as well.

All games will be officiated with WALOA officials using 2019 NVYLL rules.  Our tournament will be held either at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA or another Virginia location with turf fields.  The cost will be $500 per team with a $450 early bird discount..

Several NVYLL clubs who have expressed interest, including Dulles South who has committed to sending all four of their A teams.  We are confident our tournament will have a minimum of 4 teams per division, and will be able accommodate the new 8UA teams playing on a modified field..

We kindly request that you reply back with your initial interest (including which specific teams you plan to enter).  We will slot teams on a first come, first served basis.  You can reply back to this email (

Thank you.  VLC looks forward to hosting this event for benefit of all Northern Virginia Boys youth lacrosse players.

VLC Management

"I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Emma Schait and I am currently the assistant coach and head offensive coordinator at George Mason University for the women’s lacrosse program. I am a recent graduate of Stony Brook University, where I was a contributing member of the no. 1 nationally ranked women’s lacrosse team. I was also a member of the 2016, 2017 and 2018 America East championship teams. This past summer, I had played professional lacrosse for the UWLX on the Baltimore Ride. I have been playing lacrosse for 16 years, and I love the game immensely. Now it is my turn to give back to the game that has given me so much, and offer up what I have learned to the youth around me. Having just moved down here two months ago, I wanted to reach out and inform you, along with any of your players that could potentially be interested that I host lacrosse lessons, for offensive minded players.

Competing at a high level, I treat all of the girls that I train like they are in college, providing the best instruction that I can, while focusing on the things that I know are important to college coaches. I offer a wide range of lessons from ages K-12, and I am willing to work with anyone who wants to learn the game, or improve! I have been coaching travel lacrosse for the past 6 summers with girls of all ages. Overall, my objective is to make girls improve drastically, while preparing them to play at the next level.

I typically charge $60 an hour, for high pace, intensive work, but would be willing to work with the parents if that is too much for the family. I wanted to pass along my info to anyone who could potentially be interested.

Please contact: or (516) 491-6196 with any questions, or to set up a lesson. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!"
